Day 1 (Suggestion Only): Sydney to Kiama

Day 1 Arrive in Sydney and pick up your vehicle before beginning your holiday. Depending on your interests take time to experience some of Sydney's great attractions or alternatively begin your holiday by taking the state's most spectacular touring route. The Grand Pacific Drive hugs the coastline south of Sydney and offers stunning views including pristine beaches, rainforests and seaside villages. The touring route starts at the Royal National Park, the second oldest national park in the world. Spend time exploring the rainforests, creeks and wild stretches of coast and walking trails before heading towards Wollongong and finally Kiama. Along the way you have the opportunity to explores its surfing beaches, walk the Sea Cliff Bridge, admire the views from Bald Hill Lookout and watch spouts of water up to 60 metres (depending on conditions) at Kiama Blowhole.

Day 2 (Suggestion Only): Kiama to Batemans Bay

The drive between Shellhabour/Kiama and Batemans Bay on the Grand Pacific Drive is famous for its pristine beaches and emerald farmlands. Depending on your interests, take a detour inland to Berry, a beautiful village crammed with antique shops and cafes. Further along is the historic village of Kangaroo Valley with more than 20 walking trails from gentle strolls to rugged walks through the Morton National Park. If your interests are more coastal then travel along the coast via Nowra to Jervis Bay back around to Ulladulla before arriving at Batemans Bay. Along the way you have the option to visit Hyams Beach said to have the whitest sand in the world. View a dolphin at Jervis Bay, or see a whale or two between June and November near Huskisson.

Day 3 (Suggestion Only): Around Batemans Bay

A full day to relax and explore the many fascinating small towns, rivers, fishing estuaries and beaches around Batemans Bay. Batemans Bay and its neighbouring area boast some of the most spectacular and unspoiled coastline in New South Wales. Take a lunchtime cruise along the Clyde River to Nelligen, or if you chose to stay within Batemans Bay take a short walk to Smoke Point or stroll across the bridge to Folders Hill Lookout, a steep climb but you will be rewarded with its excellent views of the Bay.

Day 4 (Suggestion Only): Batemans Bay to Eden

The road from Batemans Bay to Eden is filled with a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches, craggy headlands and serene rivers all set against a backdrop of untamed wilderness. Stop at the village of Mogo, a relic from the past with its galleries, craft shops and cafes. Further south, The Sapphire Coast follows sculpted coastline through Narooma onto Bega, a village with a proud history of cheese making, Murimbula with its popular tourist beaches, and finally Eden with its whaling history and nearby Ben Boyd National Park with its sensational tract of wild coast with its fantastic arches, cliffs and cafes. The most striking feature of the park is Boyd's Tower, originally used as a whaling lookout, located at the extreme end in Twofold Bay.

Day 5 (Suggestion Only): Eden to Narooma

Today, head back north along the coast from Eden to Bermagui and on to Narooma. Along the way pass through the Mourinda National Park and the Mimosa Rocks National Park a strip of coastal beaches, caves, cliffs, rocky coves, massive offshore rock stacks, headlands, lagoons, coastal lakes and a heavily wooded hinterland, including patches of rainforest. Just after Bermagui before rejoining the Princes Highway north, stop at the magnificent Wallaga Lake National Park a beautiful open forest with unusual rock formations. Narooma is a popular seaside fishing spot. Just off the coast is Montague Island, the State's largest colony of Australian fur seals.

Day 6 (Suggestion Only): Narooma to Nowra

The drive from Narooma to Nowra has to passing through the towns of Batemans Bay and Ulladulla, to give you a second opportunity to see the sights you missed on the way South. At Ulladulla stop and view the harbour where fishing trawlers shelter behind the breakwater. The perfect place to stop and grab some local fish and chips from the fishing co-op. Just a little North, Milton offers a blend of smart cafes, boutiques and galleries. At Nowra have a look at the Fleet Arm Museum with its display of military aircraft or head inland to Bundanon to the home of famous painter Arthur Boyd.

Day 7 (Suggestion Only): Nowra to Sydney

Depending on when and how you are departing Sydney, a relaxing day driving back to Sydney stopping and exploring the attractions and towns along the Grand Pacific Drive you missed on the way down. Stop at Wollongong with its array of fishing boats and lighthouses, visit the Five Islands Brewery to sample some of their product and enjoy a meal overlooking the beach. Alternatively arrive early back into Sydney to explore Botany Bay and the attractions in the south of Sydney before returning your vehicle to Mascot near the airport.
